SGH at 200: Sanctuary and Stronghold

Books

The covers are to reflect each other, with a sneak peek to the contents.

Launched by Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, Sanctuary and Stronghold are 2 books designed as a set to commemorate the Bicentenary of Singapore General Hospital (SGH). The covers are to reflect each other, with a sneak peek to the contents. Volume 1 tells the SGH story, and the cover features the counting of years, highlighting significant dates. Vol 2 interviews 26 people whose lives are intertwined with that of SGH and the cover features their names. The book design seeks to be understated, keeping in line with the humble character of a hospital, but added a touch of glamour with the black hotstamp at the sleeve spine. A splash of colour at the book spines breaks the monochrome palette, adding life to each volume.
