The Story of Yeh Chi Wei (2010)

Books

The design aimed to be outstanding from the shelves, by using a striking colour scheme and Yeh’s most significant artwork.

The first of the Nanyang Artist book series by The National Gallery Singapore, The Story of Yeh Chi Wei was important in setting an art direction and precedent for the series. Most books are ultimately noticed if not judged by their covers. The design aimed to be outstanding from the shelves, by using a striking colour scheme and Yeh’s most significant artwork. The use of Frutiger, a grotesque font which boldly combines humanist and industrialist qualities, also contributed to the uncompromising and serious yet contemporary face of the book.
